New York, NY – August 9, 2010 – mtvU, MTV’s 24-hour college network, is bringing the hottest artists direct onto college campuses across the country with the 2010 mtvU “Campus Invasion Music Festival.” Headlined by the multi-Platinum rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars, as part of their “Into The Wild” U.S. tour, which is presented by mtvU, the band will be joined by special guests Neon Trees and New Politics.
Thirty Seconds to Mars who were just nominated for 4 MTV Video Music Awards, including Video of the Year, began the “Into the Wild” world tour early this year in support of their third studio album This Is War. The first leg of the tour took them to 89 cities in 27 countries where they played in front of over 1.3 million ecstatic fans. This Is War has already spawned two-consecutive #1 singles at alternative radio with “Kings & Queens” and “This Is War.” The album’s thirds single “Closer to the Edge” impacts radio later this month. Formed by brothers Jared and Shannon Leto, Thirty Seconds to Mars has captured numerous awards and accolades, including an MTV Video Music Award, three MTV EMA’s, an MTV Latin and Asia Award, and an mtvU Woodie Award.
The invasion starts this fall, hitting the following schools:
9/25 – Utah Valley College – Orem, UT
9/29 – Texas A&M (Kingsville Campus), Kingsville, TX
10/4 – Murray State University – Murray, KY
10/15 – University of South Florida – Tampa, FL
